Twin Girls -Take Two

Got quick word back from the Cincinnati Sugar Glider breeder today. She has twin girls, just out of the pouch, that will be available in mid-June. And I have first dibs on these two! Woo Hoo! In response to some questions, this is what the breeder had to say:

"yes my kids are handled daily (more like nightly), the lil girls eyes
are not open yet but they know who i am. Lulu and Carter (mom and dad)
are very attentive. right now the adults are on a mix fruit/veggie diet
(grapes, honeydew, cantelope, watermelon, yams, apples, oranges, sugar
snap peas, carrots, bananas, strawberries, etc) with eggs (hard boiled
or scrambled), and mealies (i get shipments monthly from flucker
farms). I also use the pet glider vitamin sprinkled on their meals.
Sometimes they also get baby foods but only the fruits and only every
once in a while."

Glider Search Continues

Received some bad news from the Sugar Glider breeder today. The girls are one gray and one wfb. Because of the unique coloring of one of them, the breeder promised her to someone else for a much higher price. I was pretty upset that things fell through since I assumed I would get both girls no matter what their color. When I expressed this disappointment, the breeder's comment was that she didn't think I would want to pay such a high price.

I did, however, get a lead on another breeder from the Cincinnati area who will soon have some joeys OOP. I'm contacting her today. I've already ordered a cage from K & D Exotics.

Twin Girls

The joeys are OOP now and are both girls. The breeder is unable to determine the coloring just yet. I went ahead and began my shopping for a cage to house them in today. I figure they will be old enough to come stay with me by the end of May or early June which should be just the right timing with my school schedule.

SG Breeder Found

Today I made contact with a breeder from NE Ohio who has joeys IP. I'll have to wait until they are OOP before knowing their sex. This breeder is willing to drive to Southern Ohio once the joeys are old enough to leave their mother in order to make the exchange.

Search for Sugar Gliders

After some extensive research on sugar gliders, I've decided to begin contacting breeders in my search for sugar gliders. So far I haven't had much luck in finding a breeder online that doesn't already have a long waiting list. Never realized that they could be so difficult to find. I know that I want a pair of joeys; either two females or two neutered males.
