Processor Card Doa
gaming motherboards?

{these are from Tigerdirect.com}

i have decided on a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Processor with a Thermaltake / V1 / Multi-Socket 775/AM2/939/754 / Copper / CPU Cooler for my computer but the motherboards they have avalable are ...well... really bad. well they have really bad reviews.
i was going to get the XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard
but it only uses DD3 ram and is aparently very unstable.

i looked at the EVGA nforce 780i SLI Motherboard
but this is basicaly a lucky dip DOA. and me being in australia, i can't be just sending things back.(4 week wait)

(my video card is the EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX Video Card - 512MB GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV)

i decided not to go SLI. i can always do that later.
but i still need a motherboard that is not going to brick on me or something.

so whats a motherboard like the ones obove that is not as bad as the ones above??
what site can i order it from.

Well I Personally recommend The Asus Striker Extreme Mother Board( Just a few weeks back i was in the very same conundrum my friend) They are extremely reliable, durable, and take an LGA 775 socket processor....i have the same cooler unit as you aswell....evrything works great! im not sure about your nVidia 9800 though???It Also Supports Quad Core Processing. It should be 100% compatible but it was made after the mother board...nVidia will provide support on this as i run an 8800GTS and cannot help you there. A Good Site i recommend is Ebay(had to be) but sites found through Froogle(googles shopping search engine) have sorted me out with a great deal...There are not over priced like the boards mentioned earlier and yes the XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard is EXTREMELY unstable BSoD(Blue Screen of Death) all the time when i had it. here is a link to the cheapest ones around:

http://www.google.com/products?q=%22Asus+Striker+Extreme%22&show=dd&scoring=pd

unfortunately a few was all i could find on the australian version
But im sure youll look much harder!!!!
Hope This Helps you,

KAV
