Help with IT Certifications?
Hello Everyone,
Here is my situation. I used to be a system administrator for a shipboard LAN network in the Navy. When I got out in 2005 we were still using windows NT. Now I have been in school at KSU and my degree is in management. I have a small computer repair company and I really want this to become my main thing. The problem is I am behind on everything I never got my certifications CCNA, CCNP, MCSE and I need this training to get anywhere. I want to get these certs and I need an instructor enviroment. I am looking into TechSkills but I have seen bad things on the internet. What is the best route to get my certifications. KSU doesn't hsave anything.
Going to a training facility has it's rewards, like having a live instructor and other classmates to learn from. If you don't have a good tech training school around you , then check out Trainsignal.com they have excellent training videos that walk you step by step through everything server related and they also have a complete cisco package. The only negative here is that you don't have a live instructor and you would want to put together a lab to follow along with the videos. Be assured though the videos are really good. Whatever you do don't go to a bootcamp, the goal isn't to just earn your certs like a bootcamp does for you , but it's to learn the material which a boot camp isn't going to provide.
