MagicJack Drawbacks? Negatives?
Also.... I would want a local number..... could they determine if I could get one before going through the process of buying and setup?
just got ours today. it works awesome. you can check the website's faqs and it will show all active and pending area codes. we use it as a home phone. we've been using just our cell phones, but recently went over on minutes and instead of upgrading our plan for $20 a month, thought we'd try this out and use it when we're at home. called some of my friends and family and asked them to call back. it works great and i just set up our voicemail. one drawback is that the computer has to stay on for it to work. don't know if it still works if the computer is in sleep mode, but its not a replacement for our cells, just a very cheap alternative to upgrading our plan or getting charged high overage rates.
